This work is an illustrated interpretation of Ezekiel chapter 1 in which Ezekiel receives a "vision of God" and describes the appearance of four "living creatures" also referred to as the Cherubim.
It felt good to take my time and work through several iterations of this piece before I created the final result. I wanted to create an angelic image that was both unidentifiable compared to how an angel is traditionally depicted in fine art, as well as a depiction that is accurately described in the text.
